Conservation & Research Foundation,
USA
The Conservation & Research Foundation
has provided funding to assist our research into the decline
of penguins in the Falkland Islands. Data from healthy penguin
populations in Chile, where penguins are protected from commercial
fishing, has shown that Falkland Islands penguins are declining
due to the annual starvation of chicks and juveniles, due
to competition for food with the Falklands' commercial fishing
industry.
